Vostra Llar's history Vostra Llar Palamós: 60 years of falling in love, making friends, ambitions, failures, advances, inspiration, tradition and life in Hotel and Restaurant Vostra Llar. Herminia was born in Palamós and had a factory producing cork stoppers for wine and champagne, which she exported all over the world: Mexico, the Philippines, Italy, France and the United States, among others. The product triumphed all over the world until the United States marketed plastic pieces that performed the same function and were much cheaper. This, added to a big fire in the factory, led Herminia and her children to rethink their future. Two of them opted for the hotel business and collaborated with their mother in the opening of the Hostal Vuestra Hogar. It was 1958 and at that time, the establishment only offered bed and breakfast. But at the request of customers, they began to serve meals and, thanks to Hermínia's home cooking, it started to be successful. Here begins the history of Vuestro Hogar! Summer 1958 Vostra Llar is born The building of this first “Vostra Llar” was right next to where we are today. It was a much smaller establishment but just as cozy. Initially only breakfasts and lunches were served at the request of customers staying at the hostel with a familiar and homemade treatment. Summer 1965 The restaurant opens Due to the great demand from customers, Vostra Llar begins to serve meals. The cuisine offered is homemade, always with local products. Year 1993 New management Carme and Boy become managers of the Hotel & Restaurant Vostra Llar. After many years working in the business, Carme and Boy begin to implement everything they have learned and take charge of Vuestra Llar Palamós. Year 2010 La Piconera” is born We created "La Piconera", the bar of the Vostra Llar where we offer coffee afternoons and cocktail evenings and some tapas. This is how what had been a simple bar became a place to meet friends, organize work meetings or relax after a long day. Summer 2014 New decoration After years of making small changes of image, we decided to go for a major renovation. But always with the idea of making you feel at home. Summer 2018 Renovation of the porch We continue renovating. This time it was time for one of the best known areas of Vostra Llar: the porch, the space just in front of the garden. Year 2020 We listen to you We incorporate vegan hamburgers to the menu of "La Piconera" and vegetarian paellas in our restaurant.
